Course Content

The VTCT Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training qualification will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to teach, and develop a range of personal qualities and attributes required for teaching, assessing and supporting learners. You will learn about wider professional practice, theories, principles and models in education as well as teaching, learning and assessment in education. During your course you will also have the opportunity to choose from a range of optional units including action research, inclusive practice, teaching in a specialist area and preparing for the personal tutoring role. This qualification is a nationally recognised qualification for those individuals who aspire to, or hold a teaching role with an extensive range OR a high level of teaching or training responsibilities such as level 5/ 7 aesthetics.

Course Structure

This is an intensive fully supported distance learning study programme. It is personable and not online. You will need to keep a log of 100 teaching hours so access to teach in a learning environment is desirable. No entry requirements needed although ability to complete assignments and conduct independent research is important. An induction session is arranged at the beginning of your course.to choose option units and recommend resources for your studies.You will have access to a teaching and learning mentor throughout your supported study programme who will arrange monitor/ guidance sessions remotely. You must attend our training venue for one day at the end of your course for portfolio completion and assessments.

Duration of course 6-18 months from registration date. On average 12 months depending on time availability.
